Eve
July 29th 2002, I began to gather parts to build a new computer for my gal pal MsDivine. The first thing I needed to know was what the primary use for the computer would be. In MsD's case, it would be primarily internet access, basic website design and maybe a game of solitaire. Knowing this, I knew she didn't need a killer Pentium 4 2.1 gig processor with 80 GB hard drive. I decided to trim down and get something nice and accommodating.

Here is a list of everything I got along with prices and where I got them from:
The first thing I picked up was a mid tower case. It came along with a 400 watt power
supply and all the screws I needed.
Purchased From: Ebay Auction www.ebay.com
Total Price: $40
The next purchase I made was for the cdrom drive. This is a typical cdrom drive that
can play music and read cd programs. MsD was not interested in a DVD player. Its a 56X
cdrom drive.
Purchased From: www.googlegear.com
Total Price: $23
Next we have the memory chip set. I bought one stick of 512mb memory which is more than
enough. I wanted to get more, but with a 1 gig celeron, it was enough.
Purchased From: www.buyaib.com
Total Price: $46
I purchased the hard drive off an ebay auction. I originally got two 20gig Western
Digital hard drives. One was a Protégé and the other was a Caviar. I used the Protégé
for Eve. Protégé Specifications

Finally, the cooling fans. You'll find these to be very important and sometimes
overseen. I for one did not put enough cooling fans into The Beast. But I added on of
everything I put into Eve. For her, I put in a Hard Drive cooling fan and a System Exhaust
Blower.
Purchased From: www.coolerstar.com
Total cost: $15 (HD Cooler: $9) (System Exhaust
Blower: $6)
Total Price: $301
